Work > Statement

I have a diverse practice in which I utilize a range of processes that stem from abstraction, photo-realism, assemblage, pop art, and surrealism. Working primarily with acrylics and an airbrush, and sometimes utilizing sculptural techniques, I create stream of consciousness works that reinterpret personal experience within a complex array of art languages. My most recent body of work consists of text-filled paintings loosely based on the motif of coloring book pages. They are a pursuit of narrative forms through painting that is cathartic, exhausting, and slightly embarrassing.
